Vinita joined ITA in November 2023 as ITA’s trainer developer.
Vinita Singh Bhatia was born in Kanpur, India on February 15, 1967 and was raised in New Delhi to parents who were pioneers of Christian Radio in India. At the age of three she was behind a mic singing for the radio ministry. Her mom was an author, artist and a play director and Vinita along with her older sister, took part in several radio and stage plays. Vinita, after high school got her Bachelor’s in English Literature from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University and later in life added a Master’s in English Literature and another Master’s in Christian Ministry. Vinita married Sukhwant in 1988 and they have two adult daughters, one son-in-law and a grand-dog, Winnie. Priyankaa (27) is pursuing her PhD in Biomedical sciences in Dallas, Texas. She is married to Nate who is pursuing his degree in Nursing. Akanksha (23) has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from the University of Houston and has joined a design firm as a product designer for lighting. She is also a fitness instructor at the local gym.
Vinita came to the Lord in her early teens and treasures the deep faith legacy of her father and mother, striving to always reflect the grace of the Lord in her life!
Vinita, in the last 35 years has worn many hats, apart from being a wife and mother, she worked in Dr. Tony Evans’ ministry-The Urban Alternative in Dallas, Texas, an announcer for a radio Bible study program for TWR India, pastor’s wife, Sunday school superintendent, worked on a project for Biblica to create New Testament study notes for English-speaking children in India, has scripted and voiced a few fund-raising videos for an NGO, written, directed and acted in plays for her church in New Delhi, worked as an assistant librarian for a Christian School in Plano, Texas. Her husband Sukhwant (ThM, PhD) is President of SEEK Partner’s International an organization that they founded to raise quality leaders through premiere theological and ministerial training, focusing on the Northwest region of India. The formal training arm of SEEK is North India Institute of Theological Studies (NIITS) in Chandigarh, Punjab, India, of which Sukhwant is Principal. Vinita helps with administration, staff and faculty development as well as teaching, and counseling/mentoring students. Sukhwant and Vinita, divide their year between the US and India. She feels that “home” is wherever in the world her suitcase lands!
Vinita’s LMC journey started in 2004 in the Philippines.
Vinita is an avid reader, apart from the Bible, she tries to read at least 35-40 books per year. She also enjoys baking, cooking, traveling, trying different cuisines, music, singing, exercising and listening to a variety of podcasts. Old ruins intrigue her, history fascinates! She feels her creative juices flowing when she organizes and decorates her home, especially for Christmas. She values her many friends, keeping in touch even with her friends from second grade! Above all, she enjoys laughter and silliness, deep socio-political, philosophical, theological, science and book discussions with her girls.
Vinita’s claim to fame: Meeting Mother Teresa the year before she died; and being part of a choir that sang along with Michael W. Smith at Carnegie Hall, New York!
Personal Mission Statement: I exist to worship God as I counsel, encourage, enlighten and nurture those who the Lord brings into my life from family, friends, fellow workers, students and those within the circle of my influence.
