Ameeta joined ITA in November 2023 as ITA’s Manager of the LMC Online Courses.

Born on 14 December 1961 to Bishan and Olive Singh, Ameeta is the older of two girls with whom the Lord blessed her parents.  Her dad was raised by his uncle and aunt in Myanmar as his parents had gone to be with the Lord when he was just three years old.  As a young man, he served in the Indian Army under the British in World War II.  After his uncle passed away, he moved to India with his aunt and served for many years as a manager in a bank.  Obeying the Lord’s calling, he took an early retirement from the bank and both he and Ameeta’s mother served in a radio ministry called Back to the Bible Broadcast. They served there until their retirement from the organisation and their home calling a few years later.

Ameeta completed her schooling and graduation in Sociology from Delhi University and married to Satender Bahadur in April 1983.   The Lord blessed them with three wonderful children, two girls, Shefali and Aanchal and a son, Saahil.  Satender loved the Lord dearly and always had a heart for ministry among underprivileged communities.  However, his dreams were cut short when in 1990, he was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML).  They moved from New Delhi to Dehradun, a smaller city at the foothills of the Himalayas where he fought his fight with CML bravely for 16 years, till the Lord called him home in January 2006.  His disease did not restrict him in any way to do what he loved to do, travel, be with people, teach, preach and serve until there came a time when his strength began failing him and he spent a lot of time just reflecting on the goodness of God in his life.  It was an uphill journey for Ameeta as she became a single parent to three growing children, who were all studying at that time.  But she never felt the Lord left her alone even for a single moment.  Ameeta gives God thanks for His goodness and all her adult children love and know the Lord in a personal way.

Shefali is an Administrator as well as a Teacher, Aanchal is a Graphic Designer and is passionate about riding her motorcycle and doing photography and Saahil is working as an HR Administrator with Rubico IT Private Limited, an American IT Company working out of Dehradun and Haridwar in North India. Saahil was married in 2022 to Erica Alisha Turner, who also loves the Lord and works as a Compliance Associate with Gerson Lehrman Group, Inc. They are expecting their first child in April 2024.

Ameeta has received a number of trainings and workshops in the area of Child Protection and is a certified trainer from Karl Kubel Institute of Development Education, Coimbatore, South India.  She has experience of over 30+ years of working with various Christian NGOs, national and international in community development and child care, such as World Relief, Habitat for Humanity International, Kinderhilfswerk Society, EFICOR and Mission to the World.

Ameeta is passionate about encouraging, enabling, motivating and supporting organisations to work with integrity and humility by putting systems in place in order to reach God’s standards in their work.  She has experience in conducting trainings and workshops in the areas of management and organisational development and child safeguarding against abuse.

Hobbies:  Ameeta loves to cook, listen to music, travel, and just spend time with family, laughing and having fun!!
